The road to K-stardom has opened up.

Today (December 12), SM Entertainment Group announced they would be taking their 2025 auditions internationally in search of the next K-pop stars. In light of this, they will be holding auditions across Korea, China, Japan, North America, and Canada. Applicants born between 2005 and 2015 are eligible to apply, regardless of gender and nationality.

In an official press release, the company detailed, “The global audition tour will officially kick-off in January in Korea, with stops in Seoul, Busan,
Daegu, Daejeon, Jeonju, Gwangju and Wonju. It then moves to China in February, visiting Chongqing, Guangzhou, Beijing and Shanghai, before jumping over to Japan in March with auditions in Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka. The North American auditions will be held in Los Angeles on May 3 and Toronto on May 10.”

Pre-registration for the Korea, China, and Japan auditions are open for application on their website. Pre-registration for the North American auditions will be available from March 28, 2025 onwards. Winners of these auditions will get an opportunity to receive SM Entertainment’s renowned training and mentorship, with the potential to debut as a global K-pop star.

SM Entertainment are renowned as some of the original pioneers of the Hallyu Wave, as they debuted some of K-pop’s most notable frontal acts, including TVXQ, BoA, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, and more.
