Shye has just released a brand-new single.

On September 27, the Singaporean singer-songwriter released her latest single, “coffee or tea.” Described as “a perfect song to fall in love to,” it took inspiration from “rainy day umbrella scenes from Korean, Japanese and Thai romance dramas.” It serves as Shye’s fourth single of 2024, following “can’t you see,” “WONDERFUL DAY,” and “without you.”

“Writing this song makes me want to fall in love too,” states Shye in a press statement. She shares her hope that the new track “can resonate with listeners whether or not they’ve already found their person” and in case they have, she also hopes that “it can soundtrack parts of their life and be a song that they can slow dance to.” “For those who are longing for a future with someone, love can seem elusive but maybe this song can help us dream about finding our own person.”

Starting her journey in 2018, Shye is an independent singer-songwriter and music producer known for handling all aspects of her creative process, including mixing and mastering. She is best known for songs that feature a combination of dreamy indie/electronic pop as well as alternative rock. Her latest album 9LIVES was released in 2023, and contains the tracks “PRINCESS,” “FLOWER,” “11:27,” and more.

Shye is part of the lineup of the first ever ASIYA Fest — a music festival and conference by Wanderland producers Karpos that will be held this October 12 to 13. She will be sharing the stage with the likes of BINI, Hyukoh and Sunset Rollercoaster, Balming Tiger, Zild, and more.
