It will be while before we see a complete SEVENTEEN again.

On August 12, PLEDIS Entertainment – the K-pop boy group’s label – provided an update on two of SEVENTEEN’s members, announcing that, in the second half of 2024, Jeonghan is set to begin his mandatory military service while Jun is slated to pursue acting and other opportunities in his home country of China.

For Jeonghan, PLEDIS states that while he was able to film many of the group’s content ahead of time, he will be unable to take part in the promotional activities for the group’s upcoming 12th mini-album as well as their SEVENTEEN [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR that begins this October. However, he will still be able to take part in an upcoming fan-sign event as well as their scheduled headlining performance at Lollapalooza Berlin, which is happening this September 7-8. In addition, PLEDIS promised that more details on Jeonghan’s military enlistment will be provided at a later date.

Meanwhile, for Jun, PLEDIS reveals that he is set pursue acting as well as other opportunities in China for the rest of the year. However, while he was able to film content in advance like Jeonghan, he will be unable to join their performances at the following scheduled events: their Lollapalooza Berlin set, music show performances for their upcoming 12th mini-album, as well as SEVENTEEN [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR. This is due to an “an overlap with the on-location filming schedule” of Jun’s upcoming acting endeavors. However, they state that Jun will do his best to still take part in events with SEVENTEEN whenever he can.

Hello.
This is PLEDIS Entertainment.

We would like to provide information regarding SEVENTEEN’s JEONGHAN and JUN’s activities in the second half of 2024.

JEONGHAN is due to fulfill his military obligation in the second half of 2024. While JEONGHAN filmed most of the content he could in advance, he will not be able to participate in promotional activities for the 12th mini album and the SEVENTEEN [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR, scheduled to start in October. JEONGHAN will still be able to meet with CARATs through the previously announced fan signing event and Lollapalooza Berlin. Further details regarding JEONGHAN’s military service will be provided later in a separate notice.

After thorough discussions with JUN and the other members of SEVENTEEN, we have decided that JUN will pursue acting and other opportunities in China during the latter half of this year. Like Jeonghan, JUN has completed filming for content that could be prepared in advance. However, due to an overlap with the on-location filming schedule, JUN will not be able to participate in Lollapalooza Berlin, music show performances for the 12th mini album, and the SEVENTEEN [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR. Jun is determined to participate in SEVENTEEN’s group activities, and though he is unable to take part in the world tour, Jun will participate as much as he can in schedules that engage with CARATs.

We ask for your kind understanding and support for JEONGHAN’s healthy completion of his military service and Jun’s upcoming projects. Please continue to show your love for SEVENTEEN and stay tuned for SEVENTEEN’s upcoming activities this year.

Thank you.

Prior to the announcement of his enlistment, Jeonghan made his debut as a sub-unit with fellow SEVENTEEN member Wonwoo as JxW through the single album THIS MAN last June 17. Meanwhile, alongside Wonwoo and the rest of SEVENTEEN, Jeonghan and Jun released their second Korean greatest hits album 17 IS RIGHT HERE last April 29.
