SB19 Lead The Charge at the 14th and 15th PMPC Star Awards For Music

SB19, the Kings of P-Pop, are once again award-winning artists following the proclamation of winners for the 14th and 15th Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for Music.

The complete list of winners was announced by the PMPC’s president, Rodel Ocampo Fernando, yesterday (April 25, 2024) on his official social media platforms. Posting on Facebook, Fernando introduced the winners with a spiel celebrating the evolving nature of OPM, stating: “Pinatunayan ng sikat na Pinoy Pop group na SB19 ang kanilang natatanging talento at kahusayan sa musika sa mga nakalipas na mga taon hanggang sa kasalukuyan kaya naman hindi nakapagtatakang humakot sila ng mga parangal sa 14th at 15th Star Awards for Music ng Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC).”

He further added, “Nagwagi ang SB19 sa iba’t ibang kategorya sa 14th Star Awards for Music sa pangunguna ng major awards na Song of the Year para sa kanilang awiting “Mapa” at Album of the Year para sa kanilang “Pagsibol” album sa ilalim ng Sony Music Philippines. Nakuha rin ng SB19 ang Duo/Group Artist of the Year, Pop Album of the Year (“Pagsibol”), Dance Recording of the Year (“Bazinga”), Duo/Group Concert of the Year (“Our Zone: SB19 Third Anniversary Concert”), at Music Video Year (“Bazinga”). Nagpatuloy [rin] ang panalo ng SB19 sa 15th Star Awards for Music nang magwagi sila ng Music Video of the Year para sa kanilang hit song na “WYAT (Where You At)” sa ilalim ng Warner Music Philippines.“

[“SB19 won in various categories at the 14th Star Awards for Music, led by major awards Song of the Year for their song “Mapa” and Album of the Year for their “Pagsibol” album under Sony Music Philippines. SB19 also won Duo/Group Artist of the Year, Pop Album of the Year (“Pagsibol”), Dance Recording of the Year (“Bazinga”), Duo/Group Concert of the Year (“Our Zone: SB19 Third Anniversary Concert”), and Music Video Year (“Bazinga”). SB19’s winning streak [also] continued at the 15th Star Awards for Music when they won Music Video of the Year for their hit song “WYAT (Where You At)” under Warner Music Philippines.

Aside from recognizing the Kings of P-pop, Fernando also honored the four veteran musicians who were recognized with Lifetime Achievement Awards –– which include Hajji Alejandro (Pilita Corrales Lifetime Achievement Award) and Rey Valera (Parangal Levi Celerio Lifetime Achievement Award) for the 14th Star Awards for Music; as well as Vernie Varga (Pilita Corrales Lifetime Achievement Award) and Odette Quesada (Parangal Levi Celerio Lifetime Achievement Award) for the 15th edition of the awards celebration.

Without a doubt, SB19’s impressive body of work will continue to garner more awards and recognition for the group. Additionally, the group will be concluding their ‘PAGTATAG!’ World Tour with a two-night show at the Araneta Coliseum this May 18 and 19, 2024. Tickets for both days sold out in less than four hours –– further proving just how strong of a hold the group has on both fans and critics alike.
