SB19, BINI, Maki, and more artists are taking the lead in the nominations for the 10th Wish Music Awards.

Established in 2016, the Wish Music Awards — or WMAs — are annual music awards presented by local FM radio station Wish 107.5, highlighting Filipino artists across various genres for their musical achievements in the past year or so. Notably, besides bestowing these awards, the WMAs uphold a tradition of giving out Php 100,000 to the selected charities of each major award winner, alongside a cash prize of PHP 25,000 for the winning artists themselves.

Winners are determined through a combined system of voting from fans as well as a panel of judges. For the tenth iteration of the event, fan votes will amount to 30% in deciding the winners, while the judges’ decisions will amount to 70%. Voting is open from November 8, 2024 to January 10, 2025 at 12:00 PM (PHT) via the official Wish Music Awards site or the Wish 107.5 app.

The tenth Wish Music Awards is set to be held on January 19, 2025 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. Over 70 acts will be vying to win awards across 19 major categories. In addition, the Wishers’ Choice Award will also be given in special recognition of the nominees who garnered the greatest number of votes across every single category. Meanwhile, the KDR Icon awards — including the KDR Icon of Musical Excellence and the KDR Icon of Music and Philanthropy — will also be given out.

Notable frontrunners among the nominees include the Kings of P-pop, SB19, with three nominations in total. These include Wish Group of the Year, Wishclusive Ballad Performance of the Year for “ILAW,” and Wish Song Collaboration of the Year for “Kalakal” with hip-hop icon Gloc-9.

In addition, all five members of the trailblazing boy group are nominated for their solo efforts. PABLO is nominated for Wish Artist of the Year, with his songs “edsa” and “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” vying for Wishclusive Pop Performance of the Year and Wish Ballad Song of the Year respectively. Meanwhile, Josh Cullen‘s “GET RIGHT” is competing for Wish Hip-hop Song of the Year while Stell is looking to win the Wish Breakthrough Artist of the Year award, while his song “Di Ko Masabi” is nominated in the Wish Ballad Song of the Year as well.

Alongside them, FELIP is also nominated for Wish Artist of the Year, with his tracks “Kanako” and “FLYYY” with hip-hop trio PLAYERTWO are looking to bag the Wish Rock/Alternative Song of the Year and the Wish Song Collaboration of the Year respectively. Meanwhile, justin is looking to take home the Wish Pop Song of the Year award for “kaibigan.”

The Nation’s Girl Group, BINI, have also garnered nominations for three major categories. These include Wishclusive Pop Performance of the Year for “Karera,” Wish Pop Song of the Year for “Pantropiko,” as well as Wish Group of the Year. In addition, viral pop singer Maki is also looking to take home awards from three categories, including the Wishclusive Pop Performance of the Year for his breakout hit “Dilaw,” Wishclusive Collaboration of the Year for “Sikulo” with Angela Ken and Nhiko, as well as the Wish Breakthrough Artist of the Year award.

Meanwhile, rising R&B star Dionela is also aiming to achieve three awards in total. This includes Wish R&B Song of the Year for his breakout hit “sining” with R&B veteran Jay R, Wishclusive Collaboration of the Year for “Hoodie” with Alisson Shore, and Wish Breakthrough Artist of the Year.

Other notable nominees this year include Cup of Joe, Hev Abi, James Reid, Over October, juan karlos, Lola Amour, Janine, and more.
