ROSÉ longs to be the “number one girl” in your eyes on her brand new single.
The track, which just released this November 22, 2024, sees the BLACKPINK member shifting away from the pop-punk soundscapes of the viral “APT.” to embrace piano-laden melodies and crashing drums for a powerful ballad on desire and longing. As it highlights ROSÉ’s golden voice, it also allows proper room for the heart-wrenching lyrics to take full effect on fans and listeners hearing the track. Having written the song with Amy Allen and co-producers Bruno Mars, Omar Fedi, D’Mile, Carter Lang, and Sir Dylan, it makes for a devastating opening track to her highly anticipated debut album, rosie.
Together with the song’s release, ROSÉ dropped a corresponding music video that captures her feelings of loneliness through vintage video camera cinematography. Check it out in full below:
Since the week of November 2, ROSÉ’s viral chart-topping single “APT.” which features Bruno Mars, has stood at the No. 1 spot of the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 chart for over four weeks straight since its debut. The song serves as the first single from her highly anticipated debut album, rosie, which is expected to be released on December 6, 2024. It also marked her first release under Atlantic Records.
Describing her debut album, the K-pop idol stated, “I have poured my blood and tears into this album. I cannot wait for you to listen to this little journal of mine,” as part of its announcement.
In other BLACKPINK news, fellow member JENNIE recently released her latest solo single “Mantra” — her first under ODDATELIER and Columbia Records. LISA also announced her debut album ALTER EGO, which will include her chart-topping singles “Moonlit Floor,” “New Woman” featuring Rosaliá, and “ROCKSTAR.”
