Filipino-Japanese singer REIKO drops his latest two-track project, Folklore Vol.1 – Tadhana / Multo, as he returns to the Philippines to reconnect with Filipino fans.
Released on July 27, 2026, the project serves as the 23-year-old artist’s heartfelt tribute to OPM, featuring fresh reinterpretations of two beloved Filipino songs, “Tadhana” and “Multo.” To mark the release, REIKO is also in the Philippines for a series of media appearances, interviews, and content collaborations celebrating the record.
Recorded in collaboration with some of the most respected names in the local music industry, “Tadhana” was produced in Manila under the guidance of acclaimed musician and producer, Armi Millare, while “Multo” reimagines the hit song by Cup of Joe, now sung by REIKO entirely in Tagalog.
Blending the emotional storytelling of OPM with the refined textures of traditional Japanese instrumentation, Folklore Vol.1 – Tadhana / Multo creates a cross-cultural listening experience that pays tribute to the original songs while reflecting REIKO’s Filipino-Japanese heritage.
Through the release, REIKO hopes to introduce Filipino music to listeners beyond the Philippines while celebrating the country’s rich musical legacy on a global stage.
During his latest visit to El Nido, Palawan, the singer also shared his excitement about returning to the country, posting on social media about his admiration for one of the Philippines’ most iconic destinations. REIKO last visited the Philippines in May 2026 to promote his EP VOICE, making this latest trip another milestone in his growing relationship with Filipino audiences.
