Regine Velasquez-Alcasid has announced what she calls her “final major solo concert,” marking a milestone in her highly celebrated 40-year career.

On May 1, the 56-year-old singer shared the news on Instagram, confirming FINALE: The Final Major Solo Concert set to take place on October 17 and 18 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

The announcement quickly drew an outpouring of support from fellow artists and friends, including Gary Valenciano, Iza Calzado, Angeline Quinto, Julie Anne San Jose, Darren Espanto, Klarisse de Guzman, and Velasquez’s husband Ogie Alcasid.

In a previous interview with Billboard Philippines, Velasquez revealed plans to stage her last large-scale concert as part of her anniversary celebration. The milestone comes alongside her recognition as Woman of the Year at the 2026 Women in Music, underscoring her enduring influence and legacy in the industry.

She also graced the digital cover of Billboard Philippines, where she reflected on four decades in music — from her early days as a competition winner to becoming one of the country’s most revered vocalists. In the feature, Velasquez spoke candidly about the changes in her voice that comes with age and how her legacy has evolved over time.

Dubbed as “Asia’s Songbird,” Velasquez first rose to prominence in the 1980s after winning Ang Bagong Kampeon and the Asia Pacific Song Contest. Known for her powerful vocals and signature ballads, she has released numerous platinum albums and earned widespread acclaim. Beyond music, she remains a prominent figure on television, notably as a mainstay on the variety show, ASAP.

Her upcoming FINALE concert is expected to be both a celebration and a heartfelt farewell to an extraordinary era, with further details to be announced soon.
