Reese Lansangan is set to perform in an upcoming back-to-back show with Japanese-American musician Eden Kai in Japan this December.
The show is scheduled at the Shinjuku Motion in Tokyo on December 20, 2023, marking their first live show together. In her Instagram post, the Japan-based singer-songwriter mentions that this event was produced independently by the two of them, with individual hour-long sets for each of their performances. Lansangan extends her appreciation for Kai in her post, stating:
“I first knew of Eden’s music when he performed it at Terrace House: Aloha State. Since I had a background in classical guitar, his unique fingerpicking + guitar-tapping style really caught my attention. We’ve since become friends, first online then [in real life] when we met in Japan, and he’s seriously the most hardworking person that I know. I’m so excited to join him on the 20th and share our music with you guys!”
Tickets are now available for purchase at JPY 6,000 via the QR code on the gig’s poster, while walk-in tickets are available on the day of the show for JPY 6,500 at the door of the venue. At the moment, Kai is embarking on his first tour around Japan hitting stops like Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe among others throughout November and December. Lansangan, who is currently based in Japan, released her second album Time Well Spent last 2021 to critical acclaim and has just re-issued her debut record Arigato, Internet on the vinyl format earlier this year.
