Eight years after the release of her first extended play, Peggy Gou has finally released her long-awaited debut album I Hear You.

As one of the most hotly-anticipated debut records in recent years, I Hear You is the culmination of years of work for the Korean-born musician who has firmly established herself as one of the most in-demand electronic music artists and DJs all around the world. Describing the record, Gou mentions, “I Hear You is more than just my debut album. It embodies countless hours of dedication in my journey to create something timeless, and is a testament to the power of listening, to ourselves and to each other.”

Amidst the record’s ten tracks, the renowned DJ-producer elevates her craft to the next level of her artistry, boldly claiming her voice through the kaleidoscopic lens of ’90s house music. Her recently released single, “Lobster Telephone” evokes the balmy, technicolor house music that Gou is globally renowned for, together with the festival-sized anthem “1+1=11” and her Lenny Kravitz collaboration “I Believe in Love Again.” One of the album’s biggest highlights of course is that of the 2023 chart-topping global hit “(It Goes Like) Nanana” –– which peaked at No. 1 on Billboard’s US Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart, No. 5 on Billboard’s US US Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, and No. 33 on Billboard’s Global 200 chart.

Having graced the cover of Billboard USA recently, Gou is expected to have a busy year ahead following the release of I Hear You, with expected appearances on Glastonbury’s Park Stage, and her biggest headlining show to date at London’s Gunnersbury Park, happening this August 17. Beyond the United Kingdom, the celebrated DJ is scheduled to visit Asia next month (July) for several music festivals, including We The Fest (Indonesia), Good Vibes Festival (Myanmar), and the Fuji Rock Festival (Japan).

Peggy Gou first made waves in the music industry with the release of 2016’s Art of War EP, followed by 2018’s Once EP –– which featured the popular electronic hit “It Makes You Forget (Itgahane)“. In 2019, she released her Moment EP which firmly placed her on the international radar with the viral phenomenon “Starry Night.” Since then, she’s become recognized as an artist, producer, DJ, and cultural trailblazer whose presence is recognized all across the realm of electronic music.
