Over October are back with brand new single, entitled “Bitin.”
Released on May 2, 2025 (Friday), the song was first announced by the “Ikot” hitmakers on April 6, 2025 (Sunday), revealing the news through a short video snippet of them playing the emotional track live for the first time last April 5, 2025 (Saturday) at the 2025 edition of UP Fair: REV. “New song para sa mga nagkagusto sa isa’t isa pero hindi pinagtagpo ng tadhana (New song for those who fell in love with each other but fate didn’t allow their paths to cross),” stated the band in the announcement.
In a subsequent post further teasing the track, the alternative pop quintet described the song as the sequel to their chart-breaking viral single “Ikot,” elaborating how it explores the story of someone who is unable to confess how they truly feel for the person they are in love with, only to find out later on that that person used to feel the same way for them. “Kanta ito tungkol sa pagsisisi; tungkol sa kagustuhang ibalik ang oras at pagbabakasakaling pwede pa para sa damdaming nagkasalisi (This is a song about regret; about the desire to go back in time and hoping to have another go at these feelings that missed their chance),” the band shared.
“Bitin” serves as Over October’s first release of 2025 and their first release since their sophomore album Make Believe, which came out last October 1, 2024. The full-length record notably carries “Ikot” as well as other fan-favorite tracks like “Kaakit-Akit,” “123,” and more. Notably, alongside a number of other merchandise, the band released the album on CD in collaboration with Backspacer Records.
In addition, the quintet celebrated the album’s release through their first ever solo concert, dubbed ‘Ikot sa Music Museum.’ It was held last October 4 and 12, 2024 at the Music Museum in Greenhills, San Juan City. Both dates were officially sold out.
