Indie folk-pop band Ourselves the Elves are celebrating the 10th anniversary of their beloved EP Geography Lessons with a series of special anniversary shows this November across various cities and venues, including Cebu, Bacolod, and Manila.
The celebration kicks off on November 8, where the band will perform live in Cebu for the first time at The Playground, From Here in Crossroads Cebu. Supporting acts include alternative-folk duo Tokay Mara, dreamgaze band In My Yearning, lo-fi bedroom pop and shoegaze band Hazy Daisy, psychedelic rock band Vedas, and new wave punk rocker SEXY JAY. Pre-sale tickets are priced at PHP 350 and come with a free exclusive poster for the first 10 buyers, while walk-in tickets are PHP 500.
Following their Cebu stop, the band will head to Bacolod City on November 9 for a show at SLO_BAR Café. The leg will also feature SEXY JAY and Bacolod-based dreampop/shoegaze trio, Rooftop Pizza. Pre-sale tickets are priced at PHP 500, while door or walk-in tickets will be available for PHP 700.
Next up, the band stops by downtown Manila for free shows in Escolta on November 22 and 29, as part of Hola, Escolta! — an annual celebration of the history, culture, and community of this historic street.
Released on October 10, 2015, the four-track EP includes “Baby I Love You So,” “Longing For,” “Uncertainly,” and “Cincinnati Clocks.” It serves as the soundtrack to the Kapampangan short film Lisyun Qng Geografia by Petersen Vargas, from which it also takes its name.
The film follows two high school best friends, Tib and Tric. As Tib prepares to leave Pampanga for good, he stumbles upon an old map that guides him to revisit the places that were special to him and Tric.
