Filipino rapper Omar Baliw is venturing into an entirely new genre as he joins forces with Greyhoundz’s Reg Rubio and Quesos’s Ian Tayao have released their collaboration, titled “Palag“. The song is out today (December 16) on all digital and streaming music platforms.
The track stands at a welcome duration of four minutes and twenty-three seconds, and serves as an impressive showcase for the three artists to come together with their unique musical styles.
In a teaser of the music video posted to Baliw’s official Facebook page, the black and white eighteen-second clip features Rubio, Tayao, and Baliw with one another rocking out in an all-white room. The full music video of “Palag” is set to premiere at their open-invite launch event later, which is set to happen at HGHMNDS Makati at 6 PM today.
Tayao initially posted a brief thirty-six-second teaser of the recording process behind the track on his official TikTok account with the caption “Reg Rubio X Ian Tayao X Omar Baliw Manzano. Dropping soon.”
Just recently, Baliw released his latest single “Kalmado Pt. 3” featuring Rhyn and CLR earlier this September 15, while Ian Tayao and Queso have reissued their self-titled 3rd album which came out in 2006 via Backspacer Records and Tower of Doom Records in special launch party last November 27. Including the singles Tiamat, Furlan, and Insekta, the record was pressed on a limited edition run of only 300 numbered copies available on two opaque white vinyl discs.
