Ahead of the release of her third album, NIKI is back with a new song.

On July 26, the Indonesian hitmaker released “Tsunami” — her last single prior to the release of her highly anticipated third record, Buzz. The new single is described as “the perfect soundtrack to a summer romance,” with “Tsunami” exploring “the act of falling in love” being akin to a “roaring tidal wave” which sees NIKI “swept off her feet and ready to embrace it.”

In an Instagram post announcing the release of “Tsunami,” NIKI described the track as “if the sweet overwhelming whoosh of falling uncontrollably were a song.” In the same post, she revealed “Tsunami” was written and recorded by her “in the bathroom of a green room” while touring. She first announced the release of the track last July 11, stating, “[I] personally love this one so much. [I]t makes me emo every time [I] listen to it. [F]eels like freefalling headfirst into water in the warm balmy sun.”

The release of “Tsunami” follows “Too Much of a Good Thing” and “Blue Moon,” which came out last May 3 and June 21, respectively. Meanwhile, Buzz officially comes out on August 9, and can be pre-saved and pre-ordered here.

In other news, NIKI is set to bring her world tour in support of Buzz to the Philippines in February 2025. It will mark her second solo concert in the country after her sold-out show at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City last September 23 for her Nicole World Tour.
