Inspired by the Japanese word that means “instant,” SETSUNA is said to symbolize “the beauty of moments,” which are “fleeting yet powerful.” “Our EPEPShort for extended play, a collection of songs longer than a single but shorter than a full album, typically containing three to six tracks. The forthcoming EP notably sees a mixture of elements from both artists, bringing together a combination of “neo-soul, house, and UKG with dance infused rhythms and drum n’ bass.” In addition, Muri was particularly inspired by the likes of Kaytranada, Cody Curry, and PinkPantheress in order to “get into the groove of the sound.”
“When we wrote our first song it was initially unsettling, as we navigated our shared style and ventured beyond our comfort zones,” reveals Muri, noting how “this was [their] first time creating a joint EPEPShort for extended play, a collection of songs longer than a single but shorter than a full album, typically containing three to six tracks. Artists use EPs to introduce theirGo to EP Glossary together.” “But looking back at it, the experience was one that was very exciting because you have no idea how it will turn out, and at the end you both really enjoy what you create.”
SETSUNA was preceded by the duo’s joint single “GOLDEN HOUR,” which came out on July 11, 2025. “Aside from our single ‘GOLDEN HOUR, which we wrote together in person, the creative process was quite smooth,” further shares Muri. “We wrote the rest of the EPEPShort for extended play, a collection of songs longer than a single but shorter than a full album, typically containing three to six tracks. Artists use EPs to introduce theirGo to EP Glossary remotely from Manila, Tokyo, and London, sending demos back and forth and iterating on each other’s ideas.”
In other news, Muri and Shigge just finished up the two-date Tokyo leg of a collaboration, which saw them perform some of the songs from the EPEPShort for extended play, a collection of songs longer than a single but shorter than a full album, typically containing three to six tracks. Artists use EPs to introduce theirGo to EP Glossary.
