Moonstar88 and 6cyclemind have just sold a guitar and a trophy respectively to help raise funds for their friend Allan Mitchell Silonga, who is currently battling a heart condition as well as kidney failure. The two OPM rock bands did so through Boss Toyo (real name Jayson Luzadas) — a content creator known for his online show Pinoy Pawnstars, where guests come to sell or pawn off memorabilia and personal artifacts, while negotiating buying prices and discussing the items’ background in detail.

On February 21, 2025 (Friday), Boss Toyo uploaded THE 477th episode of the show, detailing the entire process of his negotiations with Moonstar88 and 6cyclemind. The members of Moonstar88 came to sell an electric guitar, which they noted was seen in the music videos for their hit tracks “Torete” and “Migraine.” Meanwhile, 6cyclemind brought a trophy that was notably awarded to the band during the ASAP ’08 24K Gold Awards in 2008. Sharing the same honor with fellow OPM bands Imago, Sugarfree, Urbandub, and Parokya ni Edgar, 6cyclemind were given the 24K Band Award, in recognition of their 2007 covers album Home becoming certified Gold that year.

The two bands noted Silonga’s (also known in the music scene as “Daddy A”) health condition as their reason for selling these two memorabilia. During their negotiations with Boss Toyo for the prices of each item, the trophy was first offered at an initial price of PHP 350,000, while the guitar was offered at PHP 888,888, with guitarist Herbert Hernandez, who is a member of both bands, expounding on their inherent value.

Following further talks, both sides eventually agreed to sell the items for PHP 400,688, with the last three digits serving as a playful reference to the numbers in the bands’ names.

Meanwhile, Silonga went on his official social media to express his thanks to Moonstar88 and 6cyclemind for the selfless action they have done to aid him with his medical condition.“Sobrang shock ako sa pinakita ‘nyong pagmamahal sa akin (I am in shock with the love you have shown me)” he stated, expressing his gratitude to the two bands as well as their management, Soupstar Entertainment Inc. “From the bottom of my heart and my family, malaking tulong kayo sa akin (you are of big help to me). God bless you more. Salamat (Thank you) Boss Toyo at naging instrumento ang programa mo para makatulong (for your program which has become instrumental in helping me). God is great!”

Silonga is best known as part of the musical groups Daddy’s Home and K24/7, the former being one of the finalists for the first season of The X Factor Philippines back in 2012. He is also known as the owner of the Marikina City venue Imajin: Art and Music, as well as being the father of IV of Spades’ Blaster and up-and-coming singer-songwriter SHANNi.
