MBNel and O Side Mafia have teamed up for a brand new track.

On October 11, Filipino-American rapper MBNel released a new single in collaboration with chart-topping Filipino hip-hop trio O Side Mafia entitled “Ashtray.” It showcases a fiery trading of verses between the hip-hop artists, featuring lines alternating between Filipino and English. “It’s dope hearing Tagalog flow on this type of song because it’s not too far from the lane they do,” states MBNel in a press statement, noting how the team-up happened thanks to his first visits to the Philippines. “We had locked in my first trip, but during my second visit, we linked up in the studio. From there, they jumped on what I had open, and I wanted to create something catchy with them.”

The making of “Ashtray” also came part of MBNel’s recent return to the country, following his first time coming to the Philippines and shooting music videos for his singles “Ghost 2” and “Just Like You.” Notably, the music video for the former also sees an appearance from O Side Mafia.

Alongside the release of “Ashtray,” an accompanying music video for the single also premiered, which you can watch below:

“Ashtray” serves as the follow-up to MBNel’s singles “Spazzz Out” with Bkandzmb3z, and “Been That” with GB. It also follows his latest album Nothing More Nothing Less, released just last April 26. Meanwhile, “Ashtray” is O Side Mafia’s second single and collaboration of 2024, following “Kunan Mong Pic” with fellow Filipino rapper Al James, which came out last June 4.

O Side Mafia recently took the stage at Billboard Philippines: Mainstage — the first anniversary concert of Billboard Philippines. Sharing the stage with the likes of SB19, BINI, Gary Valenciano, Sarah Geronimo, and more, the rap trio showcased their singles “GO GETTA” and “GET LOW” and even performed with fellow Billboard Philippines Hip-Hop Class of 2024 graduates Tu$ Brother$ on their collaboration track “Crashing.”
