Maki is set to release a special rendition of his chart-topping single “Dilaw” for the upcoming soundtrack to ABS-CBN’s upcoming romantic-comedy film, My Love Will Make You Disappear.
The newly recorded version is described as a ‘warmer version’ of the infectious hit track, with Tarsier Records even stating how “this version of “Dilaw” is like a beautiful sunset — gentle, vibrant, and filled with a peaceful warmth that lingers.” It is set to serve as the official theme song to the upcoming blockbuster film, which stars Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino in their first big-screen collaboration as a love team. The film’s premise centers around a romance between a woman with a history of disappearing boyfriends (played by Chiu), who finds love with her landlord (played by Avelino), who is fighting to save his community from being displaced. The brand new rendition of Maki’s “Dilaw” is scheduled to be released across digital and streaming platforms this March 26, 2025, which coincides with the release date of the upcoming film in cinemas on the same day.
Just recently, Maki dropped the long-awaited music video to his single “Bughaw,” which also marked his first ever directorial effort. Together with the video’s release, he officially announced the release of his debut studio album Kolorcoaster. “It’s gonna be a hell of a ride. Sobrang daming effort na binigay dito (I gave a lot of effort to this). So, it’s gonna be an album full of colors, of course. But it’s something na songs that you’ve never heard me write before or heard me sing before. It’s gonna be very fresh. You’re gonna see a whole new concept,” mentioned Maki during the music video launch of “Bughaw.”
