Madonna has a special Valentine’s gift for her fans, teasing new music in the form of a follow-up to her chart-topping 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor.
On Instagram, the music icon announced that she is back in the recording studio with English electronic musician, DJ, and record producer Stuart Price. The announcement came with the caption, “My Valentine’s Day gift to all my fans is to let you know I’m putting my heart and soul into my new music and I can’t wait to share it with you! Confessions Part 2”
The legendary pop star revealed late last year that she was working on new music with Price, posting on Instagram that “these past few months has been medicine for my SOUL. Songwriting and making music is the one area where I don’t need to ask anyone for their permission.”
Confessions on a Dance Floor, her tenth studio album, includes the singles “Hung Up,” which featured a sample “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)” by ABBA, “Sorry,” “Get Together,” and “Jump.”
The “Material Girl” singer’s most recent album, Madame X, was released in 2019. She last toured Europe, North America, and South America for The Celebration Tour, her first retrospective tour, which paid tribute to the LGBTQIA+ community, friends lost to HIV/AIDS, and artists who served as inspiration.
On the other hand, her 1989 song “Like a Prayer,” gained a resurgence after being featured in Marvel Studios’ 2024 blockbuster hit Deadpool & Wolverine.
