South Korean idol-act Lee Junho covered rock band Magnus Haven’s “Imahe” (Image) during his Philippine fan meeting at the SM Mall of Asia Arena last November 11 (Saturday).
In a video taken by Philippine Concerts, Lee can be seen performing a two-minute long snippet of the track. “Imahe” was originally released in 2018 and has over 150 million streams on Spotify. The song went viral in 2020 and was named the Philippines’ Most Streamed Local Song on Spotify that year.
The fan meet is part of Lee’s Junho the Moment Asia tour. The last time the artist was in the Philippines was in 2013 for the concert of his K-Pop boy group 2PM. During the fan meet, Lee shared, “I missed you guys so much. For that very short moment that I was in the Philippines, I was really touched with your powerful cheers. I’m really happy that I could feel the energy and support from you guys again.”
Aside from his music career, the artist is known for his acting career, appearing in Korean dramas like King The Land, The Red Sleeve, Confession, Wok of Love, Rain or Shine, and more.
In response to the cover, Magnus Haven jokingly posted on their Facebook page a video of Lee’s performance with the caption, “Parang hugot na hugot si Oppa ah” (Oppa [Korean term for older brother] looks like he’s really heartbroken, ah). Aside from “Imahe,” the band are known for other hits such as “Panalangin” (Prayer), “Landas” (Path), and “Maria Clara” to name a few. In other news, the band released their latest single titled “Hiling” (Request) earlier this year.
