After months of teasing and speculation, the Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars collaboration is finally coming to fruition.

The single, titled “Die With A Smile,” was officially released today (August 16, 2024) at 12 PM PHST. It was released with an accompanying music video, which showcases the musical duo performing on stage in a ’60s-inspired television show. As their vocals harmonized and the chords progressed throughout the track’s four-minute runtime, it became evident that this country-inspired jukebox hit is set to become a staple in karaoke machines across the country. Check out the music video below:

Gaga first announced the song by posting a photo to Instagram of herself and Mars wearing coordinating blue and red retro-style country-western outfits, along with the caption: “WHILE YOU WAIT TILL LG7…’DIE WITH A SMILE’ a duet with @brunomars.” The award-winning pop icon has been teasing her upcoming album, the still unnamed LG7, for quite sometime –– even playing fans a brief glimpse to some tracks off the record while in Paris.

This marks the first official music release from the two industry titans after quite some time, following Gaga’s power ballad “Hold My Hand” for 2022’s Top Gun: Maverick Soundtrack, and Mars’s record with Anderson Paak, An Evening With Silk Sonic, which dropped in 2021. Gaga is set to star as one of the lead actors in Todd Philipps’ sequel to 2018’s Joker, playing the popular DC villain Harley Quinn in the upcoming Joker: Folie à Deux.

As we anticipate both LG7 and Lady Gaga’s appearance in Joker: Folie à Deux, listen to her and Bruno Mars’s “Die With A Smile” below:
