Kiana V — or Kiana Valenciano — is back with a new R&B banger.

This fresh drop follows her previous single, “Sweet Release,” which dropped last April. Following a series of new singles this year, Kiana is preparing to put out a full-length project by early 2025, according to an official press statement.

On August 27, Valenciano released “Sana,” a blissfully smooth R&B track that speaks on the enduring power of love. Featuring a sample from the classic “Sana Maulit Muli” by her Filipino-Puerto Rican father and Filipino music industry icon Gary Valenciano, the song is tinged with classic OPM nostalgia. Paying tribute to her family and upbringing, she posted the song’s teaser on her father’s birthday and released the full song on her mother’s birthday.

The track is written in both Tagalog and English, as to convey the universal feeling of longing for second chances. In a press statement, Valenciano explained, “’Sana’ is a song for and about all the ones that got away. It’s about acknowledging that you wouldn’t change the past, but you can’t bring this person with you into the future.”

In 2022, Valenciano was recognized as Favorite Female Artist at the Awit Awards, and Best R&B Artist of the Year at the PMPC Star Awards.
