Jermaine Choa Peck, also known as Jerms, marks the anniversary of her debut extended play (EP), Hiraya Manawari, with the release of the “Party Gubat” music video, in partnership with Forest Foundation Philippines, on May 11, 2026.
The vocalist and percussionist of the indie-folk band The Ransom Collective launched her solo career in 2024 with the release of her debut single, “Alay sa Gabay.” Following the band’s comeback in 2025, Jerms continues her journey as a solo artist with purpose, bridging music and advocacy through art that carries meaning and impact.
Jerms actively protects the environment by planting trees, preserving local ecosystems, and working with Indigenous communities to restore land and stop harmful activities.
In collaboration with director Paolo Moreno and the Antevasin Digital team, the project combines music and conservation, strengthening the call to protect Philippine forests and support forest-dependent communities. In an official statement, Jerms says the song is more than a celebration, but also a reminder of our connection to the land, the forest, and the people who ultimately heal and provide us with life.
“Tulad ng sabi ni Nanay Erlinda sa akin, ang reyna at tagapag-alaga ng kagubatan ng Tingtingan: ‘Ang tao at ang kalikasan ay iisa lamang. Kaya’t kailangan natin itong mahalin at protektahan, dahil ito ang buhay natin.’ (As Nanay Erlinda, the queen and guardian of the Tingtingan forest, once told me: ‘Humans and nature are the same. That’s why we need to love and protect it, because it is our life’),” Jerms shares.
“From the start, we didn’t want to tell this story in a conventional way,” Moreno adds. “By merging music and documentary, it becomes something you feel, not just understand. Something that stays with you, something you want to share. Because it’s not just about the forest — it’s about remembering that we’re part of it. And maybe that feeling is what moves people to act.”
With the music video coming to life, Jerms invites everyone to take part in the movement and learn more about local conservation efforts and support meaningful organizations like the Forest Foundation Philippines.
