Like many of us, JENNIE is suffering from a “Love Hanger” — yet hers is with the one and only Dominic Fike.

The BLACKPINK soloist just released her smooth and sultry R&B-inspired single today, with the track exploring her undeniable attraction to an individual who’s both toxic and intoxicating. JENNIE’s raw and confessional lyrics are perfectly complemented by a groovy beat that adds an entirely new soundstage for the K-pop superstar, which introduces funky elements that are further amplified by Fike’s fast-paced verses on the track. Yet ultimately, the track balances an intriguing blend of vulnerability and intensity, especially with how it captures the struggle of breaking free from a love that’s just too tough to sever.

Together with the track’s release, an official cinematic music video was unveiled, directed by Bradley & Pablo and shot on location in Mexico City. Co-starring Riverdale’s Charles Melton, JENNIE showcases her impressive acting chops as they enact a series of dates – which tragically end in the same fate that encapsulates the themes of temptation and heartbreak that surround the song’s narrative.

“Love Hangover” is just one of the many tracks that are set to be included in the K-pop icon’s debut studio album Ruby, which aims to take listeners on a sonic journey that travels across various genres to showcase JENNIE’s musical prowess. The highly-anticipated record includes the chart-topping single “Mantra,” which made its debut on the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 chart last October 2024 at the No. 8 position, before reaching a peak position of No. 3 a few weeks later.

The upcoming album from JENNIE is also set to include a number of illustrious collaborations with some of the industry’s most recognizable talents, including Dua Lipa, Childish Gambino, Doechii, Kali Uchis, and a whole lot more as part of the record. To celebrate the record’s release upon it’s arrival, the 29-year-old pop star will be performing a series of intimate shows across Los Angeles, New York, and Seoul for The Ruby Experience in addition to her solo Coachella debut performance in April.

Together with her fellow BLACKPINK members LISAJISOO, and ROSÉ (all of whom have also recently released or announced new solo projects), the group is set to reunite later this year for a major comeback and an upcoming world tour under YG Entertainment.
