Today (March 4, 2026), Filipino pop hitmaker and entertainment personality James Reid has come out with his latest single titled “Traffic,” released under Careless Philippines and Sony Music Philippines.
Written with Tagalog lyrics expressing the frustration of being stuck in a traffic jam when wanting to rush home to a significant other, the song is made bright with a pop sound and funny quips in the lyrics about dreaming of flying over EDSA. In the chorus, the artist sings, “Bakit ganyan? / Ang dami namang nakikipag-unahan / Ba’t tila ang layo kahit andiyan ka lang naman? / Takot na di maabutan / Kung tumigil ang mundo / Handa namang subukan / Kahit maipit pa ako.”
[Why is it like this? / Why is everyone trying to race ahead? / Why does it feel like you’re so far away when you’re actually right there? / I’m scared I won’t make it in time. / If the world were to stop, / I’d still be willing to try, / Even if I end up stuck.]
This marks James Reid’s first musical release of the year, following his holiday single “You Deserve It,” which came out on November 5, 2025. Last February 9, 2025, it was revealed that the artist will soon make a return to acting in the upcoming romantic-drama series Someone, Someday, produced by ABS-CBN and Dreamscape Entertainment. Additionally, he will be writing new original music for the show.
