Artist-run record label Melt Records are bringing together their diverse roster of Cebu and Manila-based acts with Meltdown Manila, an electrifying showcase featuring Irrevocable, Coloura, tidal, Keith Human, The Rising Tide, and LARA.
Marking the label’s first roster showcase in Metro Manila, Meltdown Manila celebrates the underground scene of Cebu and Manila, showcasing the broad sonic range of both their established and newer bands. Its cross-city lineup are gearing up to rock out with the crowd on May 9, 8:00 PM at SariSari, Makati.
First on the roster are the Manila-based groups including hardcore emo band, Irrevocable. Formed in 2017, the group is bringing blackgaze to the stage with their releases, Where Is Home? (2018) and Generational Curses (2023). Joining them are confessional emo-punk group tidal, who are transporting audiences to the past with their music, and shoegaze/dream pop band LARA, Melt Records’ most recently signed artist and opener for Mass of the Fermenting Dregs’ past Manila tour.
Three touring acts from Cebu are also joining the lineup, starting with the four-piece act Coloura, who are making their Manila debut at the showcase, spotlighting eclectic, pop rock tunes. Cebuano troubadour Keith Human is also bringing his lo-fi folk projects, The Bedroom Voice (2016) and The Pink (2018), to the SariSari stage. Rounding out the roster, rock quintet The Rising Tide are ready to turn up Meltdown Manila with their explosive live sets that blend J-rock, rock, and funk sounds.
“This lineup is about showing how these artists exist as part of something larger, even if they come from different places and sounds,” Melt Records’ cofounder Dexter Sy states, emphasizing on the label’s identity of being more than just Cebu-based and going beyond their city borders.
Tickets for the showcase go for P350 each during pre-selling and P400 at the gate.
