Filipino bands Identikit, The Geeks, and spacedog spacecat are ready to rock out with the Bangkok underground crowd this April.

Presented by Manila-based music collective Alternatrip and independent record label Catshelf Records, the Filipino indie rock acts will be spotlighted through multiple shows and venues throughout the city. First, Identikit and The Geeks will headline JAM Cafe BKK on April 16, with more acts to be announced soon.

Underground favorites Identikit are bringing shoegaze to the forefront with psychedelic performances from their recently released EP, Champion of Truth. One of the pioneers of noise rock in the country, the band has remained a figurehead of the genre since their debut album, Out of the Floodways and Into Your Homes

Performing alongside them are seasoned indie rockers The Geeks. Best known for their lo-fi sound and outsider aesthetic, this four-piece cult favorite blends indie pop and slacker rock. Their much-lauded latest album, Sitcom Theme Songs, bares their loneliness and isolation, accompanied by their signature loud guitars.

Fuzz pop supergroup spacedog spacecat are joining the stacked lineup for the rest of the tour. Composed of members hailing from different bands like Megumi Acorda, Eggboy, Slow Hello, The Axel Pinpin Propaganda Machine, and The Geeks, the band released their highly acclaimed 11-track debut album, Fuzz Sounds, in 2022.

The April 17 show at Marshall Livehouse will also feature Thai bands Action Star, Wicked Lights, and Dara Rasmi, completing the night’s electrifying roster. On April 18 at Blueprint Livehouse, the Filipino acts will be joined by local band Playing Saliva in a celebration of Southeast Asian talents and the diverse sound of the underground genre.
