On January 6, 2025 (Monday), the recently reunited South Korean girl group released a new single, entitled “Season of Memories” as part of their special and long-awaited reunion in celebration of their 10th debut anniversary. Following this, a special single album of the same name will be released on January 13, 2025 (Monday) at 5 PM (PHT), which also includes the track “Always.”
Following their disbandment in 2021, the K-pop 6-piece – composed of members Sowon, Yerin, Eunha, Yuju, SinB, and Umji – announced their reunion last December 2, 2024. Alongside the single album, GFriend will also be marking their 10th year with a reunion concert also dubbed as ‘Season of Memories.’ It is slated to happen on January 17, 18. and 19, 2025 (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) at the Olympic Hall, Olympic Park in Seoul. All three shows are completely sold-out.
GFriend debuted in January 15, 2015 under Source Music – the sub-label of HYBE Corporation that currently manages Le Sserafim – with the mini-album Season of Glass. They are best known for their music that often incorporates symphonic elements and melodic rock into their brand of pop music. This includes tracks such as “NAVILLERA,” “Glass Bead,” “Time for the moon night,” “Me Gustas Tu,” and more.
On May 2021, the members of the group departed from Source Music following the expiration of their contracts, marking their official disbandment. Prior to this, they came out with their third Korean studio album Walpurgis Night on November 9, 2020, marking their last official release prior to their reunion in 2025.
Following their dissolution, members Eunha, SinB, and Umji would go on to form the new group VIVIZ and debut last February 2022 under BPM Entertainment with the mini-album Beam of Prism. Meanwhile, Sowon would go on to pursue a career in acting, Yerin debuted as a soloist and actress, and Yuju pursued a career as solo singer-songwriter.
