Disney’s Frozen: The Broadway Musical is finally reaching the Philippines, set to debut at the Proscenium Theater in Rockwell Makati in April 2027.
The upcoming production was announced by 9 Works Theatrical on social media. “The gates of Arendelle are opening in Manila!” The theater company wrote. 9 Works Theatrical has been responsible for multiple high-production stagings of both local musicals such as Liwanag sa Dilim and Himala: Isang Musikal, as well as internationally acclaimed musicals like RENT and Songs for a New World. More recently, the production company staged On Your Feet!: The Story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan. Their upcoming production of Frozen: The Broadway Musical is set to be one of their much-anticipated 2027 productions.
Premiering in 2017 at the Buell Theatre in Denver, Frozen: The Broadway Musical was based on the popular 2013 animated film Frozen. The production had its Broadway debut in 2018. The musical featured original compositions from its film counterpart — composed by songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez — as well as newer tracks.
