Japan’s highly-anticipated Fuji Rock Festival is set to make a grand comeback this 2025 with the announcement of a stellar list of musicians to perform as part of the festival’s lineup.
Leading the lineup are English DJ Fred again.., American indie rock band Vampire Weekend, and renowned funk icons Vulfpeck, expected to serve as the headliners to the upcoming outdoor fest, which is scheduled to take place on the weekend of July 25 to July 27, 2025 at the Naeba Ski Resort, Yuzawa-cho, in the Niigata Prefecture.
Aside from the three performers, other notable musicians set to join the festival are HAIM, Four Tet, RADWIMPS, Faye Webster, Hyukoh & Sunset Rollercoaster, The Hives, James Blake, Confidence Man, The Hives, and a whole lot more as part of the jam-packed lineup. Japanese city-pop legend Tatsuro Yamashita is also to make his Fuji Rock debut, making this year’s iteration of the festival a show that you wouldn’t want to miss.
Last year’s lineup of performers was equally stacked, with international heavyweights such as SZA, Peggy Gou, Floating Points, Kraftwerk, Omar Apollo, Remi Wolf, The Last Dinner Party, Girl In Red, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Turnstile, Fontaines D.C. and a whole lot more performing at the famed festival. The show took place last July 26 to 28 and also occurred within Naeba Ski Resort.
News of the festival’s lineup comes at the perfect time for its three headliners — following news of Vulfpeck’s upcoming album Clarity of Cal and the recent album releases of both Fred again.. and Vampire Weekend with ten days and Only God Was Above Us respectively. The latter was included as part of Billboard Philippines‘ picks for the fifty best albums of 2024, with our editorial team describing it as “an excellent return to form for one of the indie scene’s most beloved acts.”
Tickets to the festival range from a pre-sale price point of ¥16,000 for a ‘Friday Night Ticket’ (meaning it is only valid for entry to the festival from 6:00 pm Friday, July 25th to 5:00 am Saturday, July 26th), ¥24,000 for a One Day Ticket, and ¥54,000 for a Three Day Ticket. Advance pre-sale tickets are only available in limited quantities, with a sale window from February 21 to May 15, 2025.
Beginning May 16, general ticket sales will adjust the price point for both the One Day and Three Day tickets — adding ¥1,000 for the One Day Ticket (for a new total of ¥25,000) and an additional ¥5,000 for the Three Day Ticket (resulting in a price point of ¥59,000). Check out more details here.
