Eliza Maturan is coming back with a new single this August.
On August 8, the rising singer-songwriter officially announced the release of her new single “Sisig” — set to come out on August 23. It will serve as the highly anticipated follow-up to her breakthrough hit “Museo,” which just entered the top 10 of Billboard Philippines‘ Top Philippine Songs chart on the week of August 10. Maturan initially teased the track via a short video snippet on her social media, asking her fans to guess the title of the forthcoming track.
A few hours prior to the announcement, Maturan also revealed that she is set to celebrate the single’s release with a special launch later this month. Set to happen on August 22 at ’70s Bistro in Quezon City, she will be joined by special guests Over October, The Ridleys, CHNDTR, Doughbaby, and Figvres. Early bird tickets can be availed at PHP 650 by sending a message to Maturan, while walk-in price is at PHP 800.
Following her debut in the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 for the week of July 13, the Surigao City-hailing hitmaker emphasized the importance of going one’s own pace. “Natutunan ko sa journey na ‘to na may sari-sarili tayong timeline,” she shares in an interview with Billboard Philippines. “May mga friends ako na nasa mainstream na. Before, nung nasa probinsya pa ako, nakita ko na nag-Wish Bus sila tapos nag-gi-gig na. To be honest, nung time talaga na ‘yun [iniisip ko], “Kailan kaya ako? Bakit sila lang? Ako, kailan?” Pero, along the way, natutunan ko talaga na kung kailan mo dapat matanggap, ibibigay ni Lord sa’yo.
(I learned during my journey that we each have our own timelines. I have friends who are already in the mainstream. Before, when I was still in the province, I would see that they performed on the Wish Bus already and doing gigs. To be honest, at that time, I was thinking, “When will it be my time? Why is it just them? When will it be me?” However, along the way, I really learned that whenever you’re supposed to receive it, God will give it to you.)
