This weekend, expect to see Dilaw, Over October, The Ridleys, and Ang Bandang Shirley serenading audiences at Maginhawa Street in Quezon City.
This year’s Maginhawa Arts & Food Festival promises to be a fun-filled night for those attending, even promising a musical spectacle –– featuring performances from prominent acts on the scene like Dilaw, Over October, The Ridleys, and Ang Bandang Shirley, while also showcasing the talents of aspiring musicians from the UP Music Circle such as Along The Alps, Hana Dulcet, and No Head.
The festival is set to happen throughout the day this upcoming Saturday (December 2), with gates opening at 9:00 AM for a day-long food crawl, alongside several competitions including the Drum & Lyre, QC Got Talent, and Christmas Carol events. Over 100 food and non-food merchants will be present at the event to sell their products as soon as gates open, while the evening program beginning at 6:00 PM onwards is when the musical festivities are set to occur. To make things even better for fans, the event is completely free of charge with no fee for admission or entry at any point of the festival, making this an accessible way for audiences to enjoy great music and good food in one sitting.
To recap these bands’ latest accomplishments, Dilaw won numerous awards at this year’s Awit Awards, taking home some of the biggest awards throughout the night including the coveted Record of the Year award. Also recently, Over October just celebrated their ninth anniversary as a group, and released their latest single titled “123” from Underdog Music, while The Ridleys commemorated their seventh anniversary two weeks ago in a special show for their fans. On the other hand, Ang Bandang Shirley celebrated the eleventh anniversary of their classic album, Tama Na Ang Drama, by reissuing a deluxe edition available on vinyl and streaming platforms.
