Pop auteur Charli XCX has dropped two new surprise singles off her upcoming sixth studio album brat — which now has an official release date of June 7, 2024.

The two tracks “Club classics” and “B2b” were released together with the official announcement, and follow closely after the release of the record’s first single “von dutch” and its subsequent remix featuring Addison Rae & A.G. Cook. Both new tracks feature a welcome return to XCX’s underground and club music roots, one that merges her signature hyperpop production style with more unconventional electronic and house influences that echo the raving sounds of the Berlin club scene.

Describing the releases on social media, XCX posted the following statement on her official pages: “Club classics and B2b are out now and they are 2 [very] important songs in the bratosphere. Club classics started in George’s kitchen. I was talking about missing hearing Sophie’s music as much as I used to at parties and ended up turning this thought into a song about only really wanting to hear my own music and my friends’ music at clubs (true). B2b started with a last minute dinner at the restaurant overlooking the louvre and ended in a studio in LA with a load of equipment covered in whipped cream (also true).”

“Club classics” features production from XCX’s frequent collaborator A.G. Cook and George Daniel (The 1975), while “B2b” employs the touch of electronic musician Gesaffelstein, Omer Fedi, and Cook. Upon making the announcement of the album’s forthcoming release date, the hyperpop phenomenon opened pre-orders and the pre-save link for digital platforms, and also released the complete tracklist of brat, which can be read in full below.

The record featured the hit singles such as “Good Ones” and “Beg For You”, the latter of which features Rina Sawayama.
