The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to stage its first-ever final halftime show, featuring a star-studded lineup of global headliners — BTS, Madonna, and Shakira.
The halftime show is curated by Chris Martin of Coldplay and is reported to be 11 minutes long. It is produced by the non-profit Global Citizen and benefits the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund — an initiative working to raise USD 100 million for children around the world.
BTS made their momentous comeback with the ARIRANG era, coinciding with a world tour that kicked off at Goyang Stadium in South Korea in April.
On the other hand, the Queen of Pop, Madonna, is also making her much-awaited music comeback with her forthcoming fifteenth studio album, Confessions II, a sequel to her 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor.
Shakira, a familiar face of the World Cup, will also release the official 2026 World Cup song, “Dai Dai,” featuring Nigerian singer Burna Boy. In 2010, she performed the official song for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa).”
The halftime show of the World Cup Final happens on July 20 (PH Time), at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium. The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to be the largest tournament in its history, with over 48 participating teams and matches across three host countries.
