BLACKPINK member Jennie and ZICO have finally dropped their highly-anticipated collaboration together, “SPOT!”
The hip-hop laden track opens with Jennie launching straight into the hook. This is ZICO’s first standalone release since his 2022 EP, Grown Ass Kid. “SPOT!” is Jennie’s second collaboration of the year, following her feature on Matt Champion’s “Slow Motion.” The song is part of his latest album titled Mika’s Laundry, which was released last March 22.
In the official release schedule, it appears that another snippet will be released on Instagram on April 19, followed by a snippet to be released on TikTok on April 20. A track titled ‘FINAL_Rec’ will be premiered on April 21, 9 PM (KST). On April 25, teasers for the track’s music video will be posted on the artist’s socials. Finally, on April 26, the track and music video will be premiered at 6 PM (KST).
This is also her second collaborative release after establishing her own management company, Odd Atelier (OA). In December of last year, she launched the company with a note saying, “Hi, this is Jennie. This year was filled with many accomplishments, and I’m so thankful for all the love I’ve received. I’m also excited about what’s to come, as I start my solo journey in 2024 with a company that I have established called OA. Please show lots of love for my new start with OA and of course, BLACKPINK. Thank you.”
