Hip-hop phenom Alex Bruce has finally dropped her latest single titled “SWOOSH.”

The song was originally penned for Nike’s campaign for the 2023 International Basketball Federation (FIBA), which Alex Bruce is a brand ambassador for. The title of the track is inspired by the iconic “swoosh” logo of the sports brand and its tagline, “Just do it.” She debuted the track during the half-time show of FIBA Basketball World Cup when it was hosted in the Philippines.

“Performing at the FIBA halftime show was ‘the’ experience,” the BLING artist fondly shares in a press statement. “Not only was I thrilled to be showcasing my artistry on such a huge stage, but I was also super excited to be joined by the amazing talents of ATEAM — sixteen dancers whose energy and passion added extra flavor and dimension to the performance.”

In an Instagram post commemorating the achievement, she wrote, “Honestly, I don’t know how to start; to explain how thankful and grateful I am to be a part of all of this. I am so overwhelmed…it feels so good to be surrounded by good people with their nice blooming divine, refreshing energies. I can’t tell you guys how happy I am…things are going good for me, for us.”

She was announced as a brand ambassador for Nike alongside Nadine Lustre following the opening of the first Jordan Manila store. In their description of the artist, the brand shared, “Alex Bruce is a [then] fifteen year old rap artist who is making waves in the Pinoy music industry with her bold style – both on and off the stage.”

Alex Bruce is a 16-year-old rapper who made her debut in 2018 with “The Mind Is A Weapon.” She is best known for her viral hits “BLING” and “Yakap” (Hug). She released her five-track self-titled debut EP in 2021.
