Surprise! The members of 2NE1 met up to celebrate their 15th anniversary.
On May 16, around 11 PM (May 17, 12 AM KST), the members of 2NE1 – CL, Bom, Sandara Park, and Minzy – delighted their fans, the Blackjacks, with a lovely surprise in the form of a photoshoot for their 15th anniversary. All four of the members shared the stunning photos on their respective social media, with each one proclaiming their love and thanks to their fans for all the support they have given since their debut.
In particular, leader CL’s post contained a long message in a mix of Korean and English, expressing how much the group and their fans have meant to her. “2NE1 has always been my house that made me feel the freedom to love, to play, to express, to create, to shine, to mix, to connect and share with people. Hope today 2NE1 reminds you to feel your light,” she stated in the post’s caption.
2NE1 officially debuted under YG Entertainment on May 17, 2009 with their hit single “Fire”. They are also widely known for their other tracks such as “I Am The Best”, “COME BACK HOME”, “Lonely”, and more. On April 16, 2016, Minzy officially departed from the group. A few months later, in November 2016, their eventual disbandment was announced with the remaining three members going on to release their final single “Goodbye” in January 2017. All four members briefly reunited to perform at Coachella 2022 – their first performance since the 2015 MAMA Awards (formerly Mnet Asian Music Awards) in December 2015.
