ALYSON, PLAYERTWO, Novocrane & GEE EXCLSV Bring Filipino Music To AXEAN Festival In Indonesia
Held from August 29 to 30, 2026, at Jimbaran Hub in Bali, Indonesia, for the third consecutive year, the Bali-based conference and music showcase wrapped up its latest edition.

Filipino music took another step into the regional spotlight as ALYSON, PLAYERTWO, Novocrane, and GEE EXCLSV joined artists from across Asia and beyond at this year’s AXEAN Festival.
Held from August 29 to 30, 2026, at Jimbaran Hub in Bali, Indonesia, the Bali-based conference and music showcase wrapped up its third consecutive edition, further solidifying its place as Southeast Asia’s first intra-regional music showcase and conference festival.
The festival brought together artists, music professionals, industry delegates, and audiences from across the region for a celebration of music, collaboration, and exchange. It drew more than 4,000 attendees over three days of music, discovery, and exchange.
“I love seeing people enjoy music regardless of genre, style, or language,” AXEAN Festival co-founder and co-team leader Piyapong Muenprasertdee, or Py, shares. “At AXEAN someone might be moshing in a pit one minute and joining a dangdut ring dance the next, which is exactly what happened this year.”
The Philippine front featured city pop band ALYSON, alternative rock band Novocrane, alternative hip-hop collective PLAYERTWO, and rapper GEE EXCLSV, who performed for an international audience across the festival’s various stages.
This growth was also reflected in how the festival expanded beyond its core music showcase. “Firstly, we had more popular Indonesian artists grace the stage, which attracted a bigger local audience compared to last year,” Py shares. “Secondly, the creative communities here. Through our Bali-based correspondent, Chika, we partnered with Craft Hotel, a new hotel and art gallery in Ubud, and Amplitude, a skate park in Seminyak, to organize pre-event activities, including panel discussions with people from the scene and live music from Balinese artists.”
Beyond the performances, the festival’s conference and networking initiatives further strengthened connections between artists and delegates from around the world through speed meetings, pitching sessions, and panel discussions. Partner activities included brunches hosted by Sounds Australia, programming presented by Korea Spotlight and the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), and initiatives involving France’s Centre national de la musique (CNM).
Looking ahead, AXEAN Festival aims to further its mission of promoting Southeast Asian music while expanding its reach and strengthening its presence within the wider Asian music ecosystem.
Launched in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic by music professionals from across the region, AXEAN Festival successfully hosted virtual editions in 2020 and 2021 before transitioning to in-person events. Across seven editions, more than 290 artists from 23 countries have performed at the festival, alongside more than 530 delegates representing 36 territories.
