SM Prime Holdings is officially partnering with Ticketmaster to launch SM Ticketmaster, marking the global ticketing company’s official entry into the Philippine market as demand for live entertainment in the country continues to grow.
The new venture will replace the current SM Tickets platform and combine Ticketmaster’s ticketing technology and anti-fraud systems with SM Prime’s local market expertise. SM Ticketmaster will service concerts, sports, and live events across third-party venues and SM Prime-owned properties, including SM Mall of Asia Arena, SMDC Festival Grounds, and the upcoming SM Seaside Cebu Arena.
“Our goal is to make the ticket-buying experience more reliable, secure, and convenient for customers,” said Jeffrey C. Lim, who serves as the President of SM Prime. “Through this partnership, we are combining Ticketmaster’s global ticketing technology with our local operating expertise to support the next phase of live entertainment in the Philippines.”
“Fans in the Philippines are showing strong and growing demand for live experiences, from major international tours to sports and local shows. For Ticketmaster, this is an important new market and a natural next step in our international expansion,” added Jim Kotsonis, Regional Vice President, APAC, Ticketmaster. “SM Ticketmaster will give fans a simpler way to buy tickets and organisers stronger tools to manage their events.”
Led by Mike Mangubat, SM Ticketmaster will provide end-to-end ticketing services, including event operations, marketing, and customer service. Existing SM Tickets users will transition to the new platform in the coming weeks.
International acts set to perform at SM venues this year include Laufey, ITZY, Charlie Puth, LANY, and EXO. “We have a strong pipeline of concerts, events and experiences scheduled across our venues, with more announcements to come,” added Lim.
Most recently, Live Nation Philippines announced further details about BTS‘ upcoming set of shows for their ‘ARIRANG’ World Tour, which is scheduled to take place at the Philippine Sports Stadium next year. Tickets for the forthcoming concert are scheduled to be made available via the new SM Ticketmaster platform.
