This 2023, “Pasilyo” by Sunkissed Lola is the most streamed song of the year according to Spotify –– earning up to 160 million streams since its release over a year ago.
Sunkissed Lola follows in the footsteps of Nobita and Zack Tabudlo who previously earned the honor of having the most streamed OPM songs last 2022 and 2021 respectively. Aside from the hundred million plus streams for the track, the band earned 174.2 million streams from 14.3 million listeners in 183 countries.
Sharing their excitement at the news, the group took to their official social media to extend their thanks to their fans, stating: “Salamat sa pagsama, mahaba man ang biyahe [Thank you for joining us even on this long journey].”
Aside from “Pasilyo”, the other top songs in the Philippines are “Uhaw (Tayong Lahat)” by Dilaw which ranks at number two, while Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer” and SZA’s “Kill Bill” & “Snooze” all rank numbers three to five on the country’s Top 5 respectively. Other OPM songs to rank highly on the top songs from the Philippines include “Maharlika” by Adie & Janine Berdin, “Umaasa” by Calein, and “Raining In Manila” by Lola Amour.
