Influential Filipino alternative rock quintet Sandwich have renewed their partnership with longtime record label PolyEast Records, the home of the band’s releases since 2006. The contract signing took place on March 27, 2026 at the label’s office in Quezon City.

The collaboration between the two officially began when Sandwich signed to the label (then known as EMI Philippines) in 2006, prior to the release of the band’s breakthrough fourth album, Five On The Floor, that same year. Before that, the label reissued the band’s independently produced third album, Thanks To The Moon’s Gravitational Pull, via a distribution deal.

Since then, Sandwich have released four studio albums (2008’s S Marks The Spot, 2010’s Contra Tiempo, 2013’s Fat Salt & Flame, and 2015’s Debris), one remix album (2019’s Space/Spase), two EPs (2022’s No Goodbyes and last year’s Kaswal), and an assortment of singles with PolyEast Records. Their latest release was the 2025 single “basura,” a collaboration with young indie rock singer/songwriter SUYEN. The track was nominated for Alternative Song of the Year at the first Filipino Music Awards held on October 21, 2025, but lost to “I.N.A.S.” by Zild.

Still one of the country’s most respected veteran rock acts, Sandwich — composed of singer and multi-instrumentalist Raymund Marasigan, guitarists Diego Castillo and Mong Alcaraz, bassist Myrene Academia, and drummer Mike Dizon — have been acclaimed by listeners and critics alike for their consistency and not being afraid to evolve sonically. According to a press release by PolyEast Records, the band is currently at work on a new full-length album and is expected to drop a new single in May entitled “Young Stunna.”
