IV of Spades are going viral in the US.
On September 19 (for the week of September 21) — Billboard revealed its rankings for the TikTok Billboard Top 50 — the first “US-based chart to monitor music discovery and engagement” on the popular social media platform. A noteworthy entry breaking into its rankings is “Come Inside Of My Heart” by IV Of Spades, claiming the No. 13 spot in its debut.
“Come Inside Of My Heart” serves as the sixth track on the Filipino alternative pop/funk rock band’s debut album CLAPCLAPCLAP!, released in January 2019 to widespread acclaim. A few years following the album’s release, “Come Inside Of My Heart” saw massive recognition online, notably gaining viral attention on platforms like TikTok. It was then released as a single last February 24, 2023, featuring the track’s original version as well as sped up and slowed down versions.
It has since become IV of Spades’ most popular track, surpassing their breakout hit “Mundo,” and reaching audiences internationally, with listeners from the likes of the US tuning in and using the song on videos. This inevitably led to its current-day debut on the TikTok Billboard Top 50.
The TikTok Billboard Top 50 is officially recognized as “the first official chart in the US to monitor music discovery and engagement” on the social media platform. Launched last September 14, 2023, the chart is “the verified list of the hottest songs on TikTok each week, giving the most accurate record of the current music trends happening in the U.S. market.” The rankings are determined by factors that include “a combination of creations, video views, and user engagement by the U.S. TikTok community.” The chart is updated weekly every Thursday.
IV of Spades were formed in 2014 and are composed of vocalist and bassist Zild Benitez, vocalist and guitarist Blaster Silonga, and drummer Badjao De Castro. Former lead vocalist and guitarist Unique Salonga left the group in 2018. The trio are currently on an indefinite hiatus since 2020, with Benitez and Silonga having launched solo careers since then and De Castro forming the band Party Pace with Raymund Marasigan, Eco Del Rio, and John Apura.
