Before the year ends, Cup Of Joe have a special gift for their beloved fans – the announcement of their debut album!
While the Baguio-bred pop band have been teasing the release of their first full-length record since October, they made the official announcement yesterday (December 22) on their social media platforms. The highly anticipated album – titled Silakbo – is set to be released on January 17, 2025.
The record will be released ahead of their two-night solo concert, happening at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on February 8 and 9, 2025. As a show of gratitude to their fans, the band also teased a special announcement – which many of their beloved ‘Joewahs’ have speculated to be a nationwide tour that will include stops in Baguio, Davao, and Cebu this March 2025.
Cup Of Joe recently graced the cover of Billboard Philippines’ December 2024 issue, where the band detailed their love for OPM and recounted their journey to being one of the country’s biggest bands today. “I don’t know how to explain it, but there was never a goal. We were just having fun,” said guitarist Gab Fernandez to Billboard Philippines.
“What we do is all about kung ano lang maganda para sa amin. Galing siya sa taste namin, minsan sa personal experiences,” added co-lead vocalist Rapha Ridao. “Hindi namin iniisip kung paano sisikat ‘to or what, because it’s [all] about how we feel at the moment, and also ‘yung emotions na gusto namin i-translate sa mga sinusulat namin.”
(“What we do is all about what’s beautiful to us. It comes from our tastes, and sometimes our personal experiences. We never think about how our music can become popular, because it’s all about how we feel at the moment, and the emotions we translate to our songs.”)
