Eloisa Jayloni, dubbed the “Queen of Busking,” has signed with KDR Music House.
The Manila-based singer-songwriter, who has penned heartfelt songs with her guitar, has long been in the music scene, performing in public spaces around Metro Manila.
Blending pop, folk pop, and alternative music, her influences are carried by ’90s bands that she fell in love with, but are still relatable for the modern OPM landscape.
With her songwriting often capturing honest emotions and mundane stories, it has eventually allowed her to develop and grow a loyal audience since 2013, when she started making music. For her, busking only started as a hobby, but consistently performing live eventually pushed her to pursue music as a full-time career.
Eloisa has clearly grown as an artist, even performing in the iconic Wish Bus, where she got to showcase her vocal prowess and acoustic style. With this exciting new chapter of joining the ranks of KDR Music House’s pool of artists, Eloisa is poised to take her career and artistry to even bigger heights.
From performing in the streets where she first showcased her talent in singing and songwriting, she released her debut single under the label “Pag-asa,” this April.
The track harks back to a painful realization of holding on to love filled with uncertainty and false promises. With her pop-folk sound and heartfelt songwriting, Eloisa leans into the storytelling of cutting all hope for a love that is unrequited, anchored by the line, “Ayoko nang umasa sa wala.”
The song undoubtedly resonates with listeners who have experienced letting go and finally choosing themselves. All signs are pointing towards “Pag-asa” being the first of many future releases for Eloisa under the label, which also recently signed Pangasinense singer Vince Sarceda.
