Filipino singer-songwriter and producer Ace Banzuelo has released his debut album, Supernatural, through Sony Music Entertainment.
The nine-track record features the “Muli” hitmaker delivering “an intimate, cinematic body of work that traces stories of love, betrayal, longing, healing, and transcendence through a dreamy, otherworldly sonic palette,” according to the press release.
The album explores love and life from a place where innocence takes center stage. Its title draws from the strange familiarity of meeting someone new who somehow feels familiar — reminiscent of a supernatural encounter. After years of developing the project, dating as far back as eight years ago, the album finally began taking shape in 2024.
“I was going through a lot during that phase of my life,” Banzuelo shares. “I dealt with fame and personal things at the same time, which inspired the album’s emotional arc.”
Heavily moving through the dance, R&B, and dream pop genres, Supernatural brings forth Banzuelo’s experimentation in full focus where the album becomes an open space for discovery.
“As a music producer, I get to explore, experiment, and play with anything I want,” he adds. “I approached the album with what I know and what I am keen to explore sonically. I want my listeners to enter a high-definition, dreamlike state. I placed my personality, experiences, and taste throughout Supernatural, from the music to its visuals.”
Ultimately, Supernatural is more than just a debut record for Banzuelo. It takes shape as a concept album that invites listeners into his world, offering an intimate experience of who he is as both an artist and an individual—from the opening track to the closing track.
