TJ Monterde reaches a new high on the Top Philippine Songs chart.
After weeks of moving within the Top 5 of the all-Filipino music chart, the romantic singer-songwriter has finally risen to No. 1 with his viral hit “Palagi” this week (dated October 26, 2024). The track has spent 17 weeks on the Top Philippine Songs chart, initially debuting at No. 6 and has since gradually climbed up the ranks.
Last August, Monterde released a duet version of “Palagi” featuring wife and fellow OPM hitmaker KZ Tandingan. The pair recently performed the heartfelt love song at Billboard Philippines: Mainstage, during which a couple in the audience got engaged.
The rest of this week’s Top Philippine Songs chart sees Dionela and Jay R’s “sining” drop down to No. 2, while Maki’s “Dilaw,” Robledo Timido’s “Gusto Ko Sakin Ka Lang,” and Cup Of Joe and Janine Teńoso’s “Tingin” round out the Top 5.
Maki’s “Namumula” rises to No. 6, taking over ALLMO$T’s “Boyfriend,” which now sits at No. 7. This week’s Top 10 closes with Up Dharma Down’s “Tadhana” at No. 8, Cup Of Joe’s “Misteryoso” at No. 9, and BINI’s “Salamin, Salamin” at No. 10.
