The “Kill Bill” hitmaker is at it again, soaring across the charts with another global sensation.
SZA has dominated the Philippine soundscape once more, this time with her smash hit,”BMF.” Climbing up the chart to No. 9 of the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 Chart (dated January 11, 2025) after sitting at No. 75 last week, “BMF” has circulated the Internet as a certified viral hit. The earworm’s undeniably catchy and familiar hook can be attributed to its sample of the 1964 classic, “The Girl From Ipanema.”
The song is one of the many chart-toppers off SZA’s latest album, SOS Deluxe: LANA. As an expanded version of her critically-acclaimed 2022 album, SOS, the album is her sophomore full-length record following her well-renowned work Ctrl. A number of her other hit singles take up the Hot 100 with “Snooze” at No. 13, “Saturn” at No. 33, “Kill Bill” at No. 51, “Nobody Gets Me” at No. 53, “Open Arms” with Travis Scott at No. 71, and “30 For 30” rounding off her hits at No. 78.
This follows the R&B superstar’s joint reign over the charts with Kendrick Lamar on their smash hit, “luther,” which previously peaked at the top of the chart and currently still holds strong at No. 3.
The Billboard Philippines Hot 100 ranks the biggest songs in the country, based on streaming data (both audio and video) collected by data provider Luminate. The chart encompasses tracks by both Filipino and international acts. The Hot 100 is one of Billboard Philippines‘ official music charts, alongside the Top Philippine Songs chart. Both charts will be updated weekly every Wednesday.
