Stray Kids have officially debuted on Billboard Philippines‘ Hot 100 chart this week.
On July 31, Billboard Philippines revealed its chart rankings for the week of August 3. Coming into the Hot 100 with a bang, Stray Kids have entered the chart at No. 81 with “Chk Chk Boom” — the lead track from their ninth mini-album entitled ATE, which also features the tracks “I Like It,” “MOUNTAINS,” “JJAM,” and more.
Alongside the rest of ATE, “Chk Chk Boom” was released last July 19 and serves as the K-pop boy group’s latest release and comeback, following their eighth mini-album ROCK-STAR. With its pulsing rhythms combined with an unabashed display of self-confidence and swagger, “Chk Chk Boom” sees Stray Kids deliver an overall catchy track that has had listeners in the Philippines hooked since it came out, effectively aiding them in entering the Hot 100.
With the mini-album’s release, Stray Kids also premiered a music video for “Chk Chk Boom,” which sees special appearances from Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman of Deadpool & Wolverine. Following smashing success of the film since its premiere last week, the elevated success of “Chk Chk Boom” comes as no surprise as the appearance of Reynolds and Jackman in its music video — alongside the group’s participation in the movie’s soundtrack with “SLASH” — has effectively introduced the K-pop unit to an even wider audience that, evidently, cannot get enough of the song.
With Stray Kids set to return to the Philippines this November for their DominATE World Tour, Filipino fans can expect to experience in person the power of “Chk Chk Boom” and the other stellar tracks from ATE very soon.
