This week, Rico Blanco has earned himself another entry on the Billboard Philippines Hot 100.
On May 28, 2025, Billboard Philippines revealed its chart rankings for the week of May 31, 2025. For the Philippines Hot 100, a new entry comes in the form of Rico Blanco’s “Balisong – Transformed,” as it makes its debut on the chart at No. 88 this week.
“Balisong – Transformed” is a reimagining of the Rivermaya classic “Balisong,” which was co-written by Blanco. It is taken from the Filipino rock band’s 2003 full-length album Between The Stars And Waves, which also notably includes other Rivermaya hits “241 (My Favorite Song)” and “Liwanag Sa Dilim.” The new version of “Balisong” was released on June 13, 2019.
Notably, three other songs from Rico Blanco are also present on the Philippines Hot 100 this week. The first of these is “Your Universe,” the title track of Blanco’s 2008 debut solo album, as it jumps from No. 46 last week to No. 34 this week. Simultaneously, it has also made its debut on the Billboard Philippines Top Philippine Songs this week at No. 21.
After this is “You’ll Be Safe Here” — another revamped Rivermaya classic — as it leaps from No. 72 to No. 60 this week. Meanwhile, also making its debut on the chart this week is “Antukin,” also from Your Universe, as it enters the chart at No. 92.
For the top 10 of the Billboard Philippines Hot 100, Cup of Joe’s “Multo,” Earl Agustin’s “Tibok,” and NIKI’s “You’ll Be In My Heart” continue to reign over the top 3 spots at No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 respectively. Similarly, HELLMERRY’s “My Day” and Dionela’s “Marilag” also maintain their spots from last week at No. 4 and No. 5 respectively.
Meanwhile, Amiel Sol’s “Sa Bawat Sandali” is at No. 6 this week, followed by Ariana Grande and Troye Sivan’s collaboration single “Supernatural” at No. 7. In addition, Cup of Joe and Janine Teñoso’s “Tingin” remains at No. 8, followed by JENNIE’s “Like Jennie” at No. 9 and Earl Agustin’s “Dalangin” at No. 10.
