Lizzy McAlpine is now a certified chartbreaker in the Philippines.
The beloved indie-folk musician makes a strong impression on the Billboard Philippines charts (dated December 6, 2025) with her track “Staying,” which was first released as part of her 2024 album, Closer. Despite being more than a year old, the track has found new life and renewed interest thanks to social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram, leading up to its debut on the Philippines Hot 100 chart at the No. 92 position. With credit to numerous vlogs, fan-edits, and sentimental video dumps, the track has soundtracked numerous videos within the online sphere, which adds up to its notable presence within the playlists of indie fans nationwide, further boosting its appeal with Filipino listeners.
McAlpine’s “Staying” is one of five new additions to the Philippines Hot 100 chart, alongside Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande’s rendition of “For Good” from Wicked: For Good, Maroon 5’s “Wait,” Lil Eddie’s 2018 hit “Statue,” and Kyle Raphael’s “Libu-Libong Buwan (Uuwian).” Elsewhere on the chart, the Top 10 is still dominated by Cup of Joe’s “Multo” at the No. 1 spot, closely followed by Fitterkarma’s “Pag-Ibig ay Kanibalismo II,” whcih reaches a new peak of No. 2 this week.
At No. 3 is Taylor Swift’s “Opalite,” which is followed by Olivia Dean’s string of hit singles from The Art of Loving — “Man I Need” and “So Easy (To Fall In Love)” — at the No. 4 and No. 5 spots of the chart. Loonie and Arthur Nery’s collaboration “Palaisipan” moves up to No. 6, with Swfit’s “The Fate of Opehlia” at No. 7, and Kehlani’s “Folded” at No. 8. Soapdish’s “Tensionado” finds itself at No. 9, while sombr caps off the Top 10 with “back to friends” at the final spot.
Billboard Philippines’ Hot 100 chart ranks the biggest songs in the country by both local and international artists on a weekly basis, using audio and streaming data collected by data provider Luminate. The Hot 100 is one of Billboard Philippines’ official music charts, alongside the Top Philippine Songs chart, with both updated every Wednesday.
